Five years working in the plasterboard trade across Adelaide, and almost every flusher we worked alongside had the same frustrations. They couldn't find sanders who were reliable. Sanders who showed up when they said they would, finished what they started, and left the site clean. Sanders who didn't argue when something wasn't right.
The work was always there. The people who could do it properly weren't.
Most sanders leave dust everywhere, leave scratches in the mud, and suddenly go quiet the moment you point out a problem they caused. Finding one you can actually count on is harder than it sounds.
We heard that enough times that it stopped sounding like a complaint and started sounding like an opportunity. So we built Adelaide Sanding Co. around fixing every single one of those problems.
Sanding is where most of the trade cuts corners. It's dusty, it's tedious, and it's the last thing anyone wants to go back and do after a flush. The result is that a lot of sanding in Adelaide gets rushed — and the painter, the builder, and eventually the flusher pays for it.
We came at it differently. We pay attention to detail in a way most sanders simply don't. Before we call a job done we walk every surface with a torch — the same raking light inspection a painter would do — and we fix anything that isn't right on the spot. Small inconsistencies get patched. If something is genuinely our fault, we come back, no questions asked.
That's not standard. That's just how we work.
Over five years working across Adelaide's residential and commercial builds we saw the same patterns repeat. Sanders who left sites covered in dust for the painter to deal with. Sanders who made mistakes and disappeared rather than owning them. Sanders who were impossible to schedule reliably — always on another job, always running late, always an excuse.
And the ones who were fast were sloppy. The ones who were careful were slow. Nobody seemed to think you could be both.
